What the official sources say about the train, expeditions and the way back, and how to plan a first outing without invented numbers.

Frostrail combines a train journey with exploration and survival. The train is a refuge and workshop: the Eden Engine needs fuel, while equipment and the train itself can be upgraded on board. Away from the tracks, the crew searches for supplies and faces Revenants. Public sources do not yet establish the cost of a particular trip or which items appear at a location.
A simple division of tasks helps with a first expedition. Agree on one objective before leaving the train: gather materials, scout a route or investigate a dangerous place. Keep the way back in mind and check fuel and equipment before departure. Frostrail is designed for solo play and groups of up to four.
The developers list train operation, scavenging, crafting and combat as demo activities. According to the October 28 announcement, the October demo was extended by one week after Steam Next Fest. Check the Steam demo listing for current availability. Save transfer, exact recipes and fixed loot locations have not been confirmed here.
We will add concrete steps after testing a build and recording its ID. Until then, the preparation advice remains general.
